Dr. Fred Martin invents, co-designs, and studies new technologies that enable teaching and learning in computer science, data science, and artificial intelligence. He creates partnerships for bringing new computing technologies to learners both in and out of school. His work has been supported with more than $5M of funding raised as PI, including seven major NSF awards.
Martin has been a faculty member in computer science at UMass Lowell since 2002. In September 2023, Martin will join the University of Texas at San Antonio as professor and chair of the department of computer science.
