My research is focused on understanding how older adults with MCI and their care partners use and learn to use conversational agents (CAs). Specifically, my research goal is to conduct true use-inspired research. To do this, I study the limitations experienced by older adult users in order to inform the design of future CA systems that are capable of overcoming these limitations. In particular, I’m interested in future LLM-powered CAs and the various tradeoffs that arise when LLMs are used.
